MOMENTUM CONTINUES: Haaland Hosts Hundreds of Volunteers on Kickoff Call
Haaland campaign has an army of nearly 8,000 volunteers signed up
Albuquerque, N.M. – On Tuesday, the Deb Haaland for New Mexico campaign hosted nearly 400 volunteers on its “Launch Tour Encore” virtual event. Overall, 8,000 folks have signed up to volunteer for Haaland’s campaign for governor, an impressive display of the campaign’s grassroots momentum. The call included specific, results-driven actions that participants could take to show their support for Haaland showcasing a professional and effective campaign operation.
“I got my start volunteering for candidates that I believe in,” Haaland said on the call. “Your time is valuable and I’m so grateful to each of you for being on this first volunteer call to action. It means that our campaign is people-driven. It means that our campaign is grassroots-driven. And it means that we will have the power to win – because of each and every one of you.”
This show of force is yet another indication of the robust infrastructure supporting Haaland’s campaign. Just last week, the campaign announced that it raised more than $2,000,000 in contributions from more than 30,000 donors with an average online contribution under $43.
The Launch Tour Encore follows Haaland’s 19-stop launch tour to communities across New Mexico with nearly 4,000 people in attendance. During the tour, rooms were filled to capacity, including in counties where a majority voted for Donald Trump.
The strong start to Haaland’s campaign has drawn endorsements from Senator Ben Ray Luján, Representatives Teresa Leger Fernandez, Melanie Stansbury, and Gabe Vasquez and more than 80 local leaders and organizations.
