RECAP: Deb Haaland Concludes 19-Stop Launch Tour After Meeting Thousands of New Mexicans
Haaland stopped in communities all over the state to listen to voters of all political backgrounds
Albuquerque, N.M. – Yesterday, the Deb Haaland for New Mexico campaign concluded its 19- stop launch tour around the state. Haaland spoke with over 3,700 people during events in Albuquerque, Bernalillo, Santa Fe, Las Cruces, Deming, Silver City, Socorro, Gallup, Santa Rosa, Belen, Las Vegas, Clayton, Raton, Taos, Española, Los Alamos, Carlsbad, Roswell, and Ruidoso.
“New Mexicans are fierce—and everywhere we went, I saw people ready to fight for the future of our state,” said Haaland. “Our campaign is about bringing people together and making sure every community, from the biggest cities to the smallest towns, has a voice in our future. I’m so grateful for the thousands of New Mexicans who showed up, shared their stories, and are ready to roll up their sleeves to move our state forward.”

In her remarks, Haaland spoke to the issues that impact the lives of New Mexicans, including the skyrocketing price of living, stating “it’s expensive to be poor.” Her remarks were met with resounding agreement and applause in every room.
In addition to her successful tour, Haaland has raised more than $1.6 million in contributions from more than 28,000 donors, including donations from every county in New Mexico. She has earned the support of dozens of local elected officials, in addition to Sen. Ben Ray Luján, Rep. Teresa Leger Fernandez, Rep. Melanie Stansbury, and Rep. Gabe Vasquez.
Haaland’s fundraising efforts align with New Mexico’s statute which bars sitting state elected officials from fundraising during the New Mexico legislative session.
