BREAKING: Haaland Finance Report Breaks Records with Nearly $3 Million Raised
More than 39,000 donors, including from every county in New Mexico, give the stamp of approval to Haaland
Albuquerque, N.M. – Today, the Deb Haaland for New Mexico campaign announced that she has broken records, raising nearly $3,000,000 in contributions from more than 39,000 donors since launching her campaign less than two months ago, including donations from all 33 counties in New Mexico. This fundraising haul is the highest amount raised in a New Mexico gubernatorial race since campaign finance reporting has been recorded, demonstrating clear fervor for Deb Haaland to be the next governor of New Mexico.
Haaland launched her campaign with a message about lowering costs, addressing healthcare shortages, tackling crime, and improving education. The majority of Haaland’s supporters are teachers, healthcare professionals, legal experts, and retirees, showing a strong connection with working people. The average online contribution was under $40. Moreover, over 97.5% of online contributions to the campaign were below $100, and more than 2,900 individuals have set up recurring contributions pledging more than $45,000 in sustained grassroots support.
“Every New Mexican deserves the opportunity to thrive, but for decades, the system has held us back and slowed us down. I’ve never been afraid of hard work, and I’m ready to bring the change we need and tackle our challenges head-on as governor,” said Deb Haaland. “I’m grateful that so many New Mexicans have donated their hard-earned dollars to my campaign, and I’m committed to continuing my grassroots campaign, speaking truth to power, and making our shared vision for New Mexico a reality.”
Last month, Haaland completed her campaign launch tour, visiting 19 counties across New Mexico with nearly 4,000 people in attendance. During the tour, rooms were filled to capacity, including in counties where a majority voted for Donald Trump. Most recently, civil rights icon Dolores Huerta endorsed Deb Haaland. Senator Ben Ray Luján, Representatives Teresa Leger Fernandez, Melanie Stansbury, and Gabe Vasquez and more than 80 local leaders and organizations showed their confidence in Deb Haaland with early endorsements.
