Haaland Honors Fallen Soldiers at Memorial Day Service

Today, Deb Haaland, daughter of Purple Heart and Silver Star veteran J.D. “Dutch” Haaland and Navy veteran Mary Toya, joined veterans and their families at the Albuquerque Memorial Day Ceremony to honor those who died in defense of the United States. Her guest to the ceremony was Air Force MSgt. ret. Michael Pattin.

Haaland is running for governor of New Mexico and is committed to continuing her service for those who serve our country by ensuring job opportunities, affordable housing, and health care are available when the military service members return home.

As Congresswoman for New Mexico, Deb Haaland worked to increase resources for VA centers throughout New Mexico, advocated for safe military housing, and expanded uniform availability for women serving in the military during pregnancy. While serving as Secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland worked to ensure veterans and their families have access to the nation’s public lands and promoted free annual and lifetime passes for current US military and dependents, Gold Star Families, and US military veterans.
