Haaland Culminates Visits to All 33 New Mexico Counties at Office Grand Opening, Reaffirms Focus on Affordability

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Today, Deb Haaland, former Secretary of the Interior and candidate for New Mexico governor, ends her “Lift Up New Mexico Tour” meeting with voters at the opening of the campaign’s Albuquerque office. During the 15-stop tour, Haaland listened to New Mexicans living in rural communities’ concerns about rising costs on everything from housing to a cup of coffee.

“So many New Mexicans have welcomed me into their towns over these last few months, and today I was excited to welcome them into my campaign headquarters. I’m excited to be opening our doors to the campaign’s Albuquerque office and continue to hear from voters about the issues that matter most to them. This campaign has always and will continue to be about working with New Mexicans against a broken system and expanding opportunities for every person in our state,” said Haaland.

Dozens of supporters attended the event and shared conversations about the future for New Mexico. They discussed the different issues affecting New Mexicans – healthcare, education, safety, and more. Rep. Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) joined the event, and shared further her support for Deb.

In the first six months of her campaign, Haaland has visited all 33 counties in New Mexico, where she met thousands of New Mexicans in their hometowns and is ready to incorporate their ideas and concerns into her vision for the state’s future.

“Deb Haaland has never shied away from a fight. From her time in Congress to her work as Secretary of the Interior, she’s fought for our lands, our waters, our communities, and our families. Her heart is in it for New Mexico, and her extensive leadership experience that our state deserves in the governor’s office,” said Rep. Melanie Stansbury.

The office opening comes on the heels of a busy six months campaigning across the state including earning nearly 100 endorsements including U.S. Senator Ben Ray Lujan, U.S, Representatives Melanie Stansbury, Gabe Vasquez, and Theresa Leger Fernandez, and lead organizations including veterans group Common Defense and Conservation Voters of New Mexico.
