Deb Haaland Receives Endorsement From Key Land Protection Organization, New Mexico Wild Action Fund
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Today, New Mexico Wild Action Fund announced their support for Deb Haaland in the gubernatorial election. The endorsement marks Haaland’s 110th endorsement since she launched in February of 2025 and builds on momentum of grassroots support she has garnered throughout the election.
New Mexico Wild Action Fund is dedicated to the protection of New Mexico’s public lands, waters, and wildlife, and this endorsement is a testament to Haaland’s strong conservation record.
“Deb Haaland is, without a doubt, the candidate most dedicated to protecting and restoring New Mexico’s wilderness and public lands. Throughout her career in Congress and as the Secretary of Interior, she made unprecedented investments in making sure Americans have access to the outdoors,” said Mark Allison, New Mexico Wild Action Fund’s Executive Director. “As governor, her Every Child Outdoors initiative will forge pathways for our next generation of land stewards while protecting the places that make New Mexico special. She understands that protecting our environment is about our health, our wellbeing, our economy, and our natural and cultural heritage. New Mexico Wild Action Fund is proud to endorse Deb as the next governor of our great state.”
Haaland’s experience as a working mother, a member of Laguna Pueblo, former Member of Congress, and Secretary of the Department of the Interior has shaped her understanding of the importance of our outdoor spaces.
While serving at the Department of the Interior, Haaland invested over $10 billion dollars into New Mexico for infrastructure projects, conservation efforts, and clean energy initiatives. This led to millions of dollars being invested into critical workforce development and good paying jobs. Under her leadership projects that bring clean water to communities in Eastern New Mexico were made possible, and she led efforts to protect water resources throughout the state.
Last week, as part of her education policy roll out, Haaland included an Every Child Outdoor initiative that incorporates outdoor learning into K-12 curriculums.
“I’m honored to have the endorsement of New Mexico Wild Action Fund. My career has been guided by protecting our outdoor spaces – it’s important for our health and our economy,” Haaland said.
