Santa Fe Mayor Garcia Endorses Deb Haaland for Governor

Albuquerque, N.M. – Today, Santa Fe Mayor Michael Garcia, announced his endorsement of Deb Haaland to be the next governor of New Mexico. 

“From fighting to lower costs for working families to standing up for our communities and our values, Deb knows what it takes to tackle our challenges head-on. As Mayor of Santa Fe, I need a governor who will listen, lead with integrity, and deliver real results,” said Mayor Garcia. “That’s why I’m proud to support Deb Haaland for Governor — she’ll be a tireless champion for Santa Fe and for every corner of New Mexico.”

Mayor Garcia is a champion for affordable housing and served on the Santa Fe City Council for three terms before being elected Mayor of Santa Fe. During his term as city councilor, Garcia advocated for $3 million a year to the city’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Mayor Garcia’s endorsement is a testament to Haaland’s wide support from mayors and local leaders across the state. 

“Mayor Garcia and I share a vision to help New Mexicans get ahead, make sure New Mexicans have a roof over their heads, and bring down prices.
