Haaland’s Undeniable Momentum Heading into the Primary Election
Albuquerque, NM – Deb Haaland, who is running to be the next governor of New Mexico, shows undeniable momentum heading into the primary election tonight.
Haaland, who kicked off her campaign over a year ago, has proven to be the frontrunner in this race by outperforming her opponent in every key metric.
“I am extremely grateful for the support I have received in this race. Thank you to anyone who has knocked doors, taken a friend to vote, contributed to my campaign, or shown support in any way,” said Haaland. “I understand the struggles New Mexicans are facing and I will fight every day for lower costs, a quality public education, safer communities, and increased access to healthcare.”
Haaland’s campaign had over 12,000 volunteers contributing to her statewide grassroots campaign to mobilize supporters. Haaland has raised over $13 million from hundreds of thousands of contributions and has raised more money from New Mexico than any other candidate in the race. Every publicly reported poll has Haaland leading by double digit numbers.
Haaland has the support of workers, teachers, small business owners, advocates, and working New Mexicans committed to looking to a brighter future for the state.
Haaland is also endorsed by leaders across New Mexico including: Senator Ben Ray Luján, Representative Melanie Stansbury, Representative Gabe Vasquez, Representative Teresa Leger Fernández, Speaker of the NM House Javier Martinez, NM Senate President Pro Tem Mimi Stewart, NM House Majority Leader Reena Szczepanski, and NM House Appropriations and Finance Chair Nathan Small.
Throughout her campaign, Haaland has traveled to all 33 counties in New Mexico, meeting directly with families, workers, and community leaders to hear their concerns and share her vision for a safer, stronger, and healthier state. Haaland is the only candidate running for governor who has managed over 70,000 employees and an $18 billion dollar annual budget, and passed laws in Congress.
