NM Professional Fire Fighters Association Endorses Haaland for Governor

Albuquerque, N.M. – Today, the New Mexico Professional Fire Fighters Association endorsed Deb Haaland in the race for governor.

The New Mexico Professional Fire Fighters Association is committed to frontline advocacy and service to International Association of Fire Fighters Local affiliates, proudly organized for the common purpose of public safety and the well-being of fire fighters and their families.

“Fire fighters across New Mexico serve each and every day as pillars in our communities. Whether they are providing wellness checks, EMT support, or making sure that our communities are safe, they show up ready to serve those around them,” said Haaland. “I am honored to earn the endorsement of the New Mexico Professional Fire Fighters Association and I am committed to providing them with the funding and resources they need.”

“The New Mexico Professional Fire Fighters Association is proud to endorse Deb Haaland as the next governor of New Mexico. Throughout her career, Deb has championed significant efforts to support firefighters. She has secured funding, and provided necessary resources. Deb has also been committed to the long‑term health of firefighters and their families, working to expand PTSD support services. We are confident that Deb Haaland will continue to fight for us and be a partner in the Roundhouse,” said NMPFFA President Miguel Tittmann.

In Congress, Haaland voted to support municipal fire fighters and funding for wildland fire fighters. As Secretary of the Interior Department, Haaland gave fire fighters a raise and added permanent staff in offices that saw high volumes of fire in their regions. Haaland also increased PTSD support for wildland fire fighters at the Department.
