ICYMI: Deb Haaland Holds Trump & Musk’s Feet to the Fire, Takes a Stand for New Mexicans on National TV

Albuquerque, N.M. – During an interview with the Reverand Al Sharpton on national TV on Saturday, Deb Haaland held President Trump and Elon Musk’s feet to the fire regarding chaos during cabinet meetings, killing jobs at national parks in New Mexico and across the country, and immigration policies that make the country less safe. During the interview, Haaland vowed to stand up for all New Mexicans.

“It’s really a shame that a billionaire who is unelected is calling the shots for firing people when he has no idea what they even do,” said Haaland in response to Sharpton’s question about fired national park employees.

When asked about her run for New Mexico’s governor, Haaland stated, “I hopped in the race because I think it’s an important time. Leadership – real leadership – is important in this country right now. And I believe governors will be the first line of defense against the terrible and chaotic policies that are coming out of Washington, D.C. I’m running to change the game for New Mexicans, and to stand up for all New Mexicans.”

“Every single person deserves dignity and respect,” said Haaland in response to a question about Trump’s immigration policies. “When I’m governor, law enforcement in New Mexico is not going to do Trump’s bidding in this immigration situation that he has caused. In fact, law enforcement agencies should be doing what they are designed to do, and that is fighting violent crime.”
