ICYMI: Haaland’s Campaign Engages More New Mexicans, Broader Base of Supporters

Analysis points to broad trust to build a better future for New Mexico, when compared to Haaland’s opponent

Albuquerque, N.M. – In case you missed it, New Mexico In Depth released a newsletter providing insight into the recent campaign finance reports for New Mexico’s 2026 primary cycle, showing Haaland’s campaign receiving donations from roughly eight times as many New Mexicans compared to her opponent. Haaland has raised $3.1 million from donors in New Mexico — roughly $420,000 more than Bregman has raised within the state. She has done it through approximately 16,000 unique in-state donors, compared to roughly 2,000 for Bregman. By those measures, she has engaged more New Mexicans, across a broader base of contributors.

By that measure, the candidate with the national profile may also be running the more participatory campaign — a reminder that how you measure “grassroots” shapes the answer you get.
