N.M. Representative Joseph Sanchez Endorses Deb Haaland for Governor
Albuquerque, NM – Today, New Mexico State Representative Joseph Sanchez, Vice Chair of the House Rural Development, Land Grants and Cultural Affairs Committee, announced his endorsement of Deb Haaland to be the next Governor of New Mexico, adding to Haaland’s growing legislative support needed to deliver a bold legislative agenda that will expand healthcare, lower costs, increase public safety, and improve education.
“When the federal government fails, it requires state leadership to ensure that every New Mexican has the resources they need. From rebuilding our communities after devastating wildfires, to providing access to healthcare when New Mexicans need it most, it is crucial to have a leader with the necessary experience of working with and standing up to the federal government. Northern New Mexico can count on Deb Haaland to continue to be a strong voice for us and work to provide the resources we need,” said Representative Sanchez.
“Representative Sanchez has spent his time in the legislature fighting for Northern New Mexico’s economic needs and traditional water communities, and I am so honored to have his endorsement. I look forward to working with him and representatives across the state to expand access to affordable healthcare, bring down utility costs, and provide families with the resources they need to thrive,” said Haaland.
Representative Sanchez joins several other New Mexico lawmakers who have endorsed Haaland, including New Mexico Senate President Pro Tempore Mimi Stewart, Speaker of the New Mexico House of Representatives Javier Martínez, House Majority Leader Reena Szczepanski, and House Majority Whip Day Hochman-Vigil.
