Working Families Support Haaland
New Mexico Working Families Party and Organized Power in Numbers Endorse Haaland
Albuquerque, N.M. – Today, Deb Haaland, candidate for Governor of New Mexico, announced two new endorsements from the New Mexico Working Families Party and Organized Power in Numbers.
These endorsements add to Haaland’s growing coalition of organizations, advocates, and community leaders supporting her campaign to move New Mexico forward.
“New Mexico Working Families Party and Organized Power in Numbers stand up for everyday New Mexicans who work to make ends meet and are facing higher costs on groceries, housing, and at the gas pump,” said Haaland. “I look forward to working alongside both organizations to uplift working families and create a New Mexico where every child has the opportunity to thrive.”
These endorsements add to Haaland’s growing list of labor, grassroots, and community organizations backing her campaign.
Haaland has stood in solidarity with working people her entire career and understands that good paying jobs, and strong unions help families pay the bills, have access to healthcare, and earn a secure retirement. Haaland will draw on her experience as a working mom who lived paycheck to paycheck, a Congresswoman who held Trump accountable to protect healthcare, and a cabinet secretary who worked to increase wages and invested billions of dollars to secure good-paying jobs in New Mexico.
Haaland released an education plan that works to expand career pathways starting in middle school. She hopes to cultivate the next generation of skilled trades-workers by having schools partner with experienced, quality, union apprenticeship programs to provide more opportunities for our kids and meet our workforce needs. Haaland’s affordability agenda lays out a plan to lower costs, build New Mexico’s workforce, support our workers, and fight wage theft.
Throughout her campaign, Haaland has traveled to all 33 counties in New Mexico, meeting directly with parents, students, educators, and families to hear their concerns and share her vision for New Mexico. Supporting New Mexico’s workers and creating a pipeline of workers is a top priority for Haaland.
